Common Management Admission Test –CMAT  is a national level entrance examination conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) INDIA  every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India as eligibility test for Post Graduate Management Studies

The CMAT is a three hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session .The computer-based online examination is more or less the same paper based test except that a candidate reads a question on a computer terminal and clicks on the correct answer, instead of reading on a paper booklet and using a pencil/pen to darken the ovals on an answer sheet.

The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments / Constituent Colleges / Affiliated Colleges.


Pattern of CMAT Entrance Exam

Total number of Questions: 100
Total Time allocated: 180 minutes

[3 hours] – Continuous sessions

Marks allocation
Correct attempt: 1 mark
Incorrect attempt: 1 Negative mark

Sections with Questions


There shall be negative marking for wrong answers, for each wrong answer 1 mark shall be deducted .

Candidates are advised to go through mock test carefully to familiarize themselves with the screen based testing.


CMAT test validity is for one year.
